Leodis Hayslett was born to Willie and Alice Hayslett on April 26th, 1946 in Hughes, Arkansas.
In 1961, Leodis found love and married Helen Wyatt, who preceded Leodis in death in 1975.
At a very young age, Leodis accepted Jesus Christ into his life and was not only spiritual but would try to lead others into a spiritual life as well. Leodis had a strong belief system with the Lord and believed that every day you wake up is a blessing. When Leodis was asked what his final wish was before he leaves this earth, he stated that his final wish was for all of his family to go to heaven and that he prayed for that to happen every day.
Leodis was a strong man who overcame many difficult obstacles throughout his life; nevertheless, he remained faithful to the Lord and relied on Him for strength and guidance. Despite his strong spirit, Leodis struggled with many illnesses and was diagnosed with bladder cancer in early 2020. When Leodis was asked if he were afraid to die, he irrevocably stated that he was not. Leodis believed that he was in a win-win situation and that he found comfort in the fact that he knew he had two options, to either be blessed to continue to live his life with his family by his side or to be called home to heaven to be with God. Throughout his final days, he was surrounded by his family and close friends who showered him with unconditional love.
Leodis Hayslett was called home to heaven on August 4th, 2020.
